Department of Economics and Rural Development
Agriculture still constitutes a major activity for many citizens of developing countries and occupies a big share in the countries' economy. Whereas efforts to mecanize agriculture are being made in many developing countries, it is obvious that these initiatives will take some time. Furthermore, in the foreseable future, agriculture will continue to be the main source of foreign currency for a number of developing countries. The department of economics and rural development intends to challenge students to look at agriculture not only as a means for survival, but as an opportunity for changing the economy of many rural areas.
Organisation and structure of the program
The department of economics and rural development offers a program leading to a bachelor’s degree in economics and rural development. The program of study lasts three years, meaning six semesters, enabling full time students to complete their studies. A full load is equivalent to 30 credit hours per semester in accordance with the European Credit Transfer System which is used by EASU.
Nevertheless, the Department offers also part time programs which include evening studies and in-service training studies. Students who belong to this category will usually take between 9 and 12 academic semesters to complete their studies. Please, contact the Admissions Office for more information.
