Training Objectives
The Diploma training in Early Childhood Education has the following objectives:
- To understand the basic theories and principles of early childhood education;
- To understand children’s rights and developmental needs from conception up to 8 years of age;
- To be sensitive and reflect upon perspectives, priorities, and problems of early childhood;
- To develop an overview of the child’s development process and learning;
- To plan and implement tasks aiming at promoting health, protection, education, and development of small children;
- To organize, plan, and manage child care and preschool;
- To develop communication methods with parents and the community;
- To understand the child’s physical, social, and cognitive development.
Program Structure
Whereas priority is given to the acquisition of theoretical knowledge, the diploma program in early childhood education has an important practical aspect. Thus, students should spend one third of their time in internship in daycare centers and preschools. The main objective is to provide more practical knowledge and to give an opportunity of appreciating their future profession.
